Research for NASA IV&V on Technical Debt

Two student researchers, Paul MacLean and Joshua Hernandez, from LCSEE under the direction of Dr. Mr. Dale Dzielski, CMA, PMP, SAFe 4 Agilist and Dr. Tom Devine, Co-PIs, (pictured above) provided their Final Research Report Presentation for NASA IV&V under the WV Space Grant Consortium for Research Area 4 – Data Analytics for Assessing System Risk on February 9, 2022.  Over 90 NASA government technical personnel and contractors were present across several NASA facilities including Fairmont and Langley.  Their research focused on the development of a novel Effort Assessment Methodology to support improvement of prediction of refactoring efforts for future releases.  A paper has been submitted to a conference for publication awaiting acceptance decision.

Two student researchers, Maximillian Campbell and Mallory Anderson, from LCSEE under the direction of Dr. Tom Devine, PI, (pictured below) as well as Dale Dzielski and David Krovich, Co-PIs, provided their Final Research Report Presentation for NASA IV&V under the WV Space Grant Consortium for Research Area 3 – Exploration of Techniques for Evaluating Binary Code on February 9, 2022.  Over 90 NASA government technical personnel and contractors were present across several NASA facilities including Fairmont and Langley AFB.  Their research focused on the evaluation of Software Reverse Engineering Products by using static code analysis to identify cybersecurity vulnerabilities.  A paper has been submitted to a conference for publication awaiting acceptance decision.
